What to Wear This Mother’s Day

by Vicki Fairclough

Hey there! Mommin’ Ain’t Easy my friends! And that’s why Mother’s Day is such a wonderful day! Whether you’re a mom just beginning your journey or you are celebrating your mom and want to say thanks, I’ve rounded up a few looks for your upcoming Mom’s Day Celebrations.

Let do a little intro here before we dive in… My name is Shannon. I’m a busy mom of two children (ages five-and-a-half and two), a personal stylist to other busy moms and owner/curator of the online shop Layered By Cake. I am so honored to be a contributing writer here every month for IEShineOn.com . So check in here each month for style tips and tricks for your busy momma lifestyle.

Now back to the topic at hand…Personally speaking, we keep our celebrations low-key. I have a small family and being a mom myself, I really just want to sleep in, shower uninterrupted, and have a small bundle of Trader Joe’s Dandelions on my kitchen table. So my requests are really very simple. But you may have some other fancy plans up your sleeve or loved ones putting together something special. With that said, it depends on what your up to, but comfort and style is always a priority in my book no matter the occasion!

Look #1: Low-Key Style

Low-key gals, like myself, enjoy some lounging time with family in a cute graphic tee and boyfriend jeans. I popped a printed sneaker for some added outfit interest and major happiness factor! (Shop the Mommin’ Tee here and The Skinny Boyfriend Jean here. Shoes are a Target find)

Look #2: Surprise!!!

Is your family putting together a surprise for you this Mom’s Day? You Lucky girl! Make sure your outfit has some versatility because you don’t know where the day will take you. My favorite for comfort and style is a great knit dress. This can be casually worn with wedges and a denim jacket or worn alone with earrings and heels. Overall, this look is quick and easy to look amazing in no matter where you are going. (This dress is available in my VIP group only. Ask to join below)

Look #3: Bring on the Mimosas

Brunch with the ladies? For a dressier look or brunch with mom, rocking a dark denim and cute blouse (like this Ombre Tunic in Mint, only available in the VIP group), makes brunch outfitting fun and flirty. Mimosas have never looked so good!

I hope these few outfitting ideas inspire you to look and feel amazing this Mother’s Day. For more inspiring looks and style ideas, join my VIP style community HERE.
